Perched above the Mer de Glace, the Refuge du Montenvers brought together everything Julia and Justin loved about France and the mountains.
The photography moved naturally between landscape, reportage and more intentional portraits, allowing the scale of the Alps to become part of the story without losing the intimacy of the people within it.
WHEN THE LAST TRAIN LEAVES, THE MOUNTAIN BECOMES YOURS
As evening fell, Montenvers changed completely.
Once the daytime visitors had returned to Chamonix, there was an extraordinary feeling of being almost alone in the mountains, surrounded by silence, fading light and the warmth of the historic refuge.
The Montenvers has attracted adventurers, artists and writers for centuries, from Goethe and Chateaubriand to Victor Hugo and Alexandre Dumas. That history still feels present in a place that has retained the soul of a mountain refuge while becoming an intimate hotel.
Inside, the atmosphere became warm and convivial, a striking contrast with the immense landscape outside.
It was this balance between grandeur and intimacy that made the celebration so memorable.
